Delete your account

Nom Nom, by Castlebury Ventures.

You can delete your account from inside the app, without asking anybody. It takes four taps.

In the app

  1. Open Settings — the tab at the bottom right.
  2. Choose the Account section.
  3. Tap the row showing your email address. It opens your account, where your password and sign-in methods live.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account. It asks once more before it does anything — the button changes to Tap again to delete my account, so a single mis-tap cannot delete anything.

This cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your recipes first, use Settings › Account › Download my data, which writes CSV files to your phone.

What gets deleted

Data that belongs to a household you shared with somebody else stays with them. That is what sharing means: leaving a household does not delete the other members' recipes, plan or shopping list. If you were the only member, there is nobody left and the household goes with you.

Anything stored only on your phone — what is in your cupboard, your theme and text-size choices, dismissed tips — goes when you uninstall the app.

If you cannot get into the app

Lost the phone, or cannot sign in? Email us and we will delete it for you. Write from the address on the account if you can; if the account never had an email, tell us as much as you can about it and we will work out which one it is before deleting anything.
